ATRIAL FIBRILLATION / FLUTTER ABLATION

What is an AFIB/ AFlutter Ablation?

RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation) is a minimally-invasive procedure used to stop certain arrhythmias like Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).  In this procedure, doctors guide long, flexible tubes (catheters) through your blood vessels to your heart. The catheter has an electrode at the tip that will help your doctor locate the area(s) causing the arrhythmia. Then the catheter tip can transmit energy to burn or destroy that area and terminate the arrhythmia.

This procedure usually takes about 3 or 4 hours to complete but may take longer.
